Did You Get That Thing I Sent Ya?

Look, I am generally a reasonably smart human type creature. However, said reasonable smarts tend to let me down in a couple of areas. One of those is using any technology more advanced than a particularly smooth stick.

So in theory, you all should have gotten a welcome email with links to download free stuff. But my analytics say no one has opened anything, and I don’t if that means that I messed it up somehow, that no one opened it (which feels unlikely) or if the service I’m using doesn’t count the welcome email as an open.

Basically, I am indeed asking if you got that thing I sent you. 

If you can give me a shout about it, I’d appreciate it. Since I’m here, and you’re hypothetically here, I figure I could talk about what I intend this newsletter to be, since I’m actually trying to do something slightly different than is standard.

Now, obviously, I’m gonna talk about my projects and what I have on sale because I have cats to feed and I want you to buy stuff. But I’ve been in the industry for a fair stretch now, and worked for more or less every major publisher (and some minor ones) so I thought maybe I’d also talk about other stuff too.

Right now, I’m thinking of three broad categories

- Stuff I actually worked on. Hypothetically spilling the tea although given my personality, it’ll be more just behind the scenes stuff of how comics got made. And boy, I do have stories.

- Stuff I wanted to do. Basically professional fan fiction, to go all tautological on you. Stories I want to tell and haven’t got to (and most times, probably won’t get to)

- Stuff someone else did. Hey, I love comics, so I’m gonna talk about some I didn’t work on. 

I have a list of like 180 of these, so I am stocked for a long while. I do eventually also want to monetize this newsletter. The stuff I just talked about will remain free. I think the first level will get access to a more raw feed of what I’m working on, plus access to some extra goodies. Then another level where I send you digital copies of everything I can. Maaaaybe a final level where I send you printed copies of my new stuff.

Which there is a good bit of. Malevolent is still going, but I have another three series making their way through being created, and another two supposed to be on the horizon after.
